Get To Know The Studio ~ Part 1
kyung jung
In case you didn’t see the Grand Opening blog from a few weeks ago, Yellowhale Photography has a new studio location in Potomac Village, MD!
And we can’t wait to share it with just as many (if not more!) clients as the decade before our big move.
While we were sad to leave our previous studio at Savage, MD, we were very excited to gain closer location with beautiful shooting space, both indoors and out, and to share the beauty that Montgomery County offers.
We love being in the heart of Potomac, and so close to all the boutique shops & restaurants.
We even love that so many distinguished private schools are in the area, such as Bullis, Norwood School, and Potomac Glen Day School, just to name a few. It’s so wonderful to know that our new neighbors are such quality-driven families!
Just a quick drive away are the Great Falls of the Potomac River, were many families enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and whitewater rafting. The scenery is majestic from both the Maryland and the Virginia side, and if you would like to pay a visit to the Great Falls Park, be sure to check out the National Park Service site for operating hours, parking pass info, and even activities for kids to do.
Now, let’s talk about what you see when you first pull up to our shady driveway.
From your very first glance, our quaint little cottage is decked out in soft hues, bringing a smile to your face. And who wouldn’t be immediately filled with happy smiles after seeing those signature Yellowhale colors splashed so thoroughly on the exterior of the studio?
Enveloping the studio is the rest of our property, which covers an acre of verdant, natural landscape, so perfect for those rustic outdoor family photos. Our outdoor shooting area is filled with plenty of towering trees, wide swathes of lush, green lawn, and even a dried up creek bed to lend to the organic feel of the scenery. Walkways are abundant, and even connect us to a neighboring barn, an aged wooden fence full of character, or even a pretty old tree trunk that the kids always love to play their fun little games on and around.
In short – we have plenty of fun out here! Families can be free to walk and interact as they like with little restriction. We are safely located far enough away from the main road, and have plenty of room for the kids to enthusiastically run around.
And in the warmer seasons, colorful flowers and thick, lush foliage emerge as if to say, “me, too! I want to be part of the photos too!” It is most certainly a pleasant experience to photograph our clients outdoors, and Yellowhale Photography is so proud to be able to offer this convenient option with our new indoor + outdoor studio location.
