This is a beautifully hand made cello with fantastic sound, after Montagnana 1739 “Sleeping Beauty” cello, double purfling and carvings inclaid. It projects strong, robust, mature, deep, rich, well-balanced sound.
Cellist Ethan Oh is a junior at Montgomery Blair High School. He started playing cello at the age of seven. With this cello, he has won many awards in competitions including 2nd place in the 49th Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition 2020 and 1st place American Protege String competition 2019. He plays in the MCYO Philharmonic Orchestra and the Silver Strings quartet.

The original owner was an active cellist, and the many hours and years of playing have worked magic on the wood and complexity of tone. With this cello, he has won the second prize (advanced category) in the 49th Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition April, 2020.
